Stage 1: The Birth of Yandan_Hanfu
Founded in 2022, Yandan_Hanfu was created with a mission to celebrate Chinese culture and offer a diverse range of beautiful choices for our customers. We design our own products and also collaborate with individual designers and artisans, ensuring the uniqueness and authenticity of each piece. Our goal is to provide an extraordinary shopping experience, offering high-end quality at reasonable prices. The variety of products in our store is one of its key highlights.
In our first year, we launched Traditional Hanfu, Modern Hanfu, Cheongsam and Hanfu Accessories. Along with this, we began to build our presence on social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest.
Stage 2: Expanding Horizons in 2023
In 2023, we took a significant step forward by opening a store on Etsy (which has since ended operations), allowing us to expand our customer base. During this time, we noticed the increasing popularity of modernized clothing with Chinese-style elements, referred to as “新中式” (New Chinese Style). This style, blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary designs, began to resonate with a broader audience, reflecting a growing interest in integrating Chinese culture into modern fashion.
Stage 3: Broader Offerings in 2024
Looking ahead to the end of 2024, we are planning to expand our market by introducing additional traditional clothing styles, including Kimono and Hanbok. This decision was influenced by the founder’s diverse background, having spent many years abroad, which shaped a belief in the idea of global unity. With this worldview in mind, we chose to expand our focus beyond just Chinese culture to embrace the richness of Asian culture as a whole. By incorporating these varied cultural influences, we hope to offer an even more diverse range of traditional clothing, connect with a broader global audience, and celebrate the beauty of Asian heritage.
